Future measures

The proposed action prepares for the full implementation of the Fairway Rehabilitation and Maintenance Master Plan and this way preparing the compliance with the requirements of the TEN-T core network. Within this activity, FAIRway Danube prepared the pre-feasibility study on the rehabilitation of the Gabčíkovo locks in 2015, which formed the basis for a works project of € 145 Mn. worth. The lock modernization will enable the permanent operation of both lock chambers, thus ensuring more efficient locking procedures for the shipping sector.
