Geographical Scope

Danube should be seen as a priority because it is “an international river corridor “, flowing from West to East, crossing Europe and its borders and being part of the European network of inland waterways linking people, ports, cities, industrial sites and historical locations. Flowing through four European capitals, the Danube provides clear opportunities for economic and tourism development. Within the Danube region, along the river Danube, different countries, like Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania, joint their forces in a common project, FAIRway Danube, in order to harmonize level of service, for hydrology, hydrography and waterway maintenance, as marking activity, for growing up and making safe the inland navigation transport
