National Action Plans

By signing the ministerial conclusions on effective waterway infrastructure rehabilitation and maintenance on the Danube and its navigable tributaries (Brussels, 3.12.2014) Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Ukraine agreed on establishing national action plans. These identify individual actions, responsibilities, funding resources, and intermediate milestones for the implementation of measures identified by the Fairway Rehabilitation and Maintenance Master Plan.
As of October 2015, the National Action Plans are being updated twice a year, in May and October respectively, under the lead of FAIRway Danube and in cooperation with the Danube Region Strategy Priority Area 1a and Priority Area 11.
The National Action Plans have been endorsed by the Danube Ministers of Transport in Brussels in June 2016 and December 2018, thus supporting the improvement of fairway conditions
