Pilot Operations

The pilot operations develop, improve and adapt new technologies and innovative solutions and implement them in order to test their feasibility or suitability as well as their added value before deploying them on a larger scale. They may also serve the objective to deploy an existing technology, infrastructure or service in order to gain experience and/or create market conditions for deployment on a larger scale.

The FAIRway Danube pilot activities

• Develop and improve new technologies or innovative solutions
• Adapt new technologies or innovative solutions
• Deploy an existing technology

The newly procured or upgraded surveying vessels, gauging stations, and multifunctional marking vessels are being tested during the pilot operations.

The intermediate and final transnational evaluation are drawing conclusions from the pilots and analyze the feasibility of wider deployment. Recommendations for the next steps and operational concepts for the equipment and services will be provided.
