The Danube Information Services Conference (DISC) is an annual event dedicated to inform about the latest River Information Service developments and innovations in the Danube region. At the last DISC`19 in Timisoara, Romania, the transnational platform WAMOS, developed within the FAIRway Danube project, was presented by viadonau. The conference’s topic “Innovative Solutions for a good navigation status– INNOways4WW” provided the ideal setting to present the functionalities of the waterway management tool to the attending waterway administrations and the shipping sector.

WAMOS supports waterway administrations to select the appropriate decision for fairway maintenance activities, especially in regards to dredging interventions, fairway marking and river engineering measures. Features include the display of bottleneck cross cut- profiles, harmonized shallows section plots of bottlenecks, analysis of current and historic water levels, and available fairway depths,  therefore offering relevant features for monitoring, data processing and analysis. The audience was interested in the national connection with the platform and its support in the development of RIS services, as well as the type of database and GIS used.
